LCHL REGULAR SEASON FINALE WILL DETERMINE SECOND PLACE AS LEAGUE SEMI FINALS SERIES GET UNDERWAY ON SUNDAY EVENING AT PMA.

The Fairville Shooters Alpines host the White Way Wheelers tonight at 9:15 pm at the Peter Murray Arena in the final Lancaster Centennial Hockey League regular season game of the 2017-18 campaign with second place and home ice advantage on the line as the Alpines trail the Bruins by a single point in the standings to date.

Rockys Bruins finished the regular season with eleven wins against nine losses and four ties for 26 points.

Fairville Shooters Alpines currently sport an 11-9-3 mark with one game remaining and a win over the Wheelers would vault the Alpines over the Bruins into second place in the final standings and earn the Alpines home ice advantage in the upcoming best of seven semi final series beginning on Sunday evening at 9:15 pm at the Peter Murray Arena.

The Wheelers will battle Becketts Lumberkings in the other best of seven semi final series beginning on Sunday evening at 8:00 pm at the Peter Murray Arena.

If the Alpines and Wheelers play to a tie game in the finale on Friday evening the Alpines and Bruins would finish with identical 11-9-4 marks forcing the league to implement tie breaking criteria to determine the second place finisher.

In the eight game regular season series between the Alpines and Bruins the teams split the series evenly with the Alpines and Bruins both winning three games while two games ended in a draw.

The third criteria used to determine a tie breaker is goals for and against head to head during the eight game series and the Alpines hold a 27-25 edge and would be awarded second place in the event of a tie game on Friday evening
